My name is Caleb. I'm always looking for new airsoft teams to play with. I’ve been playing for about four years now. I just recently got out of the Army National Guard as a Sgt. after serving six years including one year in Baghdad, Iraq. I’m now a full time Fire/Medic with University Hts. and a volunteer with Hinckley Twp. My hobbies are airsoft and photography. I have a website for my airsoft group called BTT Backyard Tactical Training) backyardtacticaltraining.blogspot.com ( we have been playing on private property mostly with 8 to 12 players but always welcome others. I play Tac. Sim. and Mil. Sim. , and detest speedball. If you want to play speedball get a paintball gun. I play mostly with my MP5-RAS w/ attached launcher and red dot sight; I also have 2 MP5-A4s, an MP5-J, and a M3 Shorty (all TM some light upgrades). I have a plethora of gear with different uniforms and vests but I usually use my US Army woodland, with a green Black Hawk vest, Under Armor hood with S&W shooting glasses. I have several radios and push the importance of team communication, it makes a big difference! Looking forward to playing with some of you in the coming year Check out my website calebschuster.com for photos, reviews, and most importantly upcoming games.

Welcome to the BEAST forum. BEAST welcomes all airsofters, even those on other teams to participate in the forum. I'll be honest, I have not heard of your team before. You obviously have a strong loadout so you definitely take this sport seriously. However, I have not seen anyone from your team at any events. Do you guys stay backyard or do you actually go to games and I just haven't seen you? Now, onto my gear-whorishness What Blackhawk vest do you use? Since you did not mention pouches, I'd assume it is static. Also, you mentioned that you use shooting glasses. While I am not one to preach that much, I must say that you really should consider using full-seal goggles (as per Airsoft Ohio rules). BBs ricochet and come at all kinds of angles. By not using full-seal goggles, you are putting your vision at risk. It is your call what you do with your eyesight, but it should be known that neither I, nor BEAST, advocate the use of any goggles that do not meet Airsoft Ohio safety standards. Anyway, welcome to the forum. I hope you have plenty of knowledge and opinion to add to this forum. Output

Oh yes, lav, I have become quite the gear-wh*r* since last you saw me. When I get my rig a little more put together (still waiting on a few last items), I'll be sure to post up some pics.

The reason that I refereed to BTT as my airsoft group is because we are really not a team. I think of a team as several committed airsoft enthusiasts that train together and work like a well-oiled machine. I only occasionally have the pleasure of working with some guys with real experience, if I could get just six of them to really commit we could have a great team. As it stands we play with mostly inexperienced moving/shooting targets , so BTT is really just an open event organizer with no real “team” at the moment. We have gone to a few AO events as a group but were quite disappointed by the speedball style games, and paint covered fields. Don’t get me wrong it was fun, just not worth the long drive for so little actual game time. The biggest disappointment, that honestly if I had known ahead of time would have saved me the trip was the semi auto only rule! They did not allow full auto. Limiting the ammo on the field is fine, or have spring only games, but don't tell me to use my SMG MP5 like a single shot muzzleloader! You guys don't do that do you? I guess I’m just looking for more of a training style Tac Sim game experience, with more complex fields and serious experienced players. The best way to describe my gear would be to check out my web site calebschuster.com/ and check out some of my photos through the BTT link. Here is a pic of my Galls brand Green BlackHawk style vest. galls.com/style.html?assort=general_catalog&style=TE311 You have to see my custom made integrated quick detach sling to really appreciate it. I completely agree and would never recommend only using safety glasses for airsoft. I have several styles of full-face mask including the wire mesh kind, and a few full seal goggles that I have for games that require them. In the summer especially dusk and dawn even thought I have some top of the line anti-fog lenses they still fog and the wire mesh is hard to see through in low light situations. Again I DO NOT advocate their use, although the shooting glasses I use form quite well to my face while providing superb optical quality and almost completely clear fog free vision at night. I still use my full seal goggles at times i.e. indoor games, but I feel fairly comfortable with my glasses for outdoor games where I know the guns, fps limits, and tendencies of the other players on the field. This is a personal decision that I make with full knowledge of the risks. In summation do as I say not as I do, USE FULL FACE PROTECTION. (a bb to the lip, tooth, ear or eye can put a real damper on your day)

Firstly, no BEAST does not require semi-auto only (unless Vasili decided to make a change that I am not aware of ). The only time I could see BEAST require semi-auto only is during a CQB situation, which is standard with Airsoft Ohio games. This is done as a measure of safety, because as we all know, airsoft CAN BE DANGEROUS. While we all would love to bust through a door and rip through a half-mag worth of BBs at some OPFOR hiding behind an overturned desk, that presents a level of danger. When using full-auto, you are more likely to hit a person in multiple spots, reducing your accuracy. This is how face shots from 5 feet happen. Semi-auto allows you to pick your shots and aim at the chest and lower body. In airsoft, safety comes before realism. Second, if you feel that all AO airsoft events are speedball oriented on paint covered fields, you might not have been going to the right ones (no offense). While Safari Strike 3 is completely full, the registration for Blind Fury 4 has not yet opened. Trust me when I say that TAC (Safari Strike series) and Strikers (Blind Fury series) take mil-sim VERY seriously. If you attend either of these events, you will not be let down. Third, while I must commend your use of full-seal goggles, I must bring up another point. Mesh goggles are dangerous. They are not allowed at Airsoft Ohio events because 1) they do not meet the Airsoft Ohio safety requirements and 2) BBs can shatter when they hit the mesh and the fragments can still damage your eyes. While some full seal goggles do have holes in the top and bottom of the frame, enough to let a shard of BB through, the chances of this happening are SIGNIFICANTLY lower than mesh goggles permitting BB shards to pass. Once again, use of non-full seal goggles AND mesh goggles is against Airsoft Ohio safety rules and is EXTREMELY dangerous. With that out of the way, once more, welcome to the forum and we welcome any knowledge you wish to add to the discussions. I do not mean to sound so cynical, I am just a nut about safety and view it as the most important aspect of airsoft. Since you seem to want serious airsofters to play with, you may want to contact Vasili about coming down to a BEAST practice and seeing how they play. Welcome to the forum Rainbow, hope to see you on the field one day. Output
